You ever have those days where you just completely lose control? Like you meant to only eat 1 chocolate chip cookie but somehow you ended up eating the whole batch that was supposed to be for that work party? Or how about that over sized dessert that you bought to "share" with your friend knowing she didn't even like cheesecake!!
We all have moments of weakness from time to time but it's what we do after the moment is over that's important. So many get trapped in the guilt of overindulgence and then stay there with their head hanging and all hope lost! Ok, so that's a slight exaggeration but honestly, they think they have blown it so why not eat more junk? Well, GET YOUR HEAD UP!
If you have that moment of overindulgence, realize that it is only a MOMENT. Realize that the very next moment is an opportunity to get back on track and stay there. Don't waste your time being disappointed in yourself! Use that time to figure out what made you break down in the first place and make a plan to overcome the craving. Our goals are not accomplished by getting stuck in a moment but by the actions we take moment to moment. So, get up, get over it, and make this YOUR MOMENT :)

2 are better than 1...
Ever heard that saying? For the most part I think it's true, especially when you need some accountability in your life! It's so much easier to stick with a goal or a decision knowing someone who has your best interests in mind is looking over your shoulder. When we make changes in our lives it's great having someone to support us and keep us on track.
You can use this "buddy system" for just about anything but it's an awesome idea to use a buddy as you make new fitness goals. The best "buddy" is reliable, excited about health, and someone who will be honest with you. Don't pick someone who is just going to tell you what you want to hear (ex. "It's ok, just eat 1/2 the carton of ice cream. It's not the whole thing and you can work it off tomorrow" or "You don't REALLY need to do 45 min of cardio. Just run in place for 5 min and meet me for fried chicken after"). You want someone who can give it to you straight (ex. "It's my job to help you accomplish your goals, not give you an excuse to fail" or "doesn't your plan say that your cheat meal is on Saturdays? Why are you going to Coldstone on Thursday night"). When you are weak, your buddy can help change your attitude and refresh your perspective, ultimately leading you to reach your goals!
Make sure to let your buddy know what your goals are in detail! Give them the inside track on your weaknesses and little things that may take you off your plan. Call your buddy when you need a little extra PUSH or encouragement and ask them to check in with you randomly to keep you on your toes!!
I guess 2 are better than 1...So go get yourself a buddy and make your fitness goals a reality :)

Rise and Shine!
Every day I am faced with some kind of challenge. Big, small, significant or not...nothing is more important than the decision to overcome whatever I am faced with.
This morning, as my alarm buzzed loudly at 4:45am, I was faced with the challenge of getting out of bed for my morning workout. I heard the alarm and did one of those over exaggerated sighs and started to pull the comforter back over my head. That moment I had a decision to make. I knew that I would love my workout once I got to the gym, I knew that I would feel great when it was over too! So what was keeping my buried under my covers? Rationally speaking, I should have jumped up with a big smile on my face as soon as a heard the alarm!I understood the benefits of my workout, I love how exercising makes me feel and I love the physical benefits of my consistency so what was my problem?? I needed to get my head right. In that moment, I needed to DECIDE to overcome my challenge and get out of my bed. Once the decision is made, then and only then can you act on your decision. The power is in the choice. I could have stayed in bed thinking over my options, weighing out the pros and cons, going back and forth...but as long as I wavered in my choice, there could be no action. Fortunately for me, I decided to get up and take my behind to the gym!
Now, I am challenging you to MAKE A CHOICE. Maybe you have been weighing out the pros and cons about starting your own workout routine. Maybe you have been trying to rationalize your way out of making healthy food choices. Maybe you are going back and forth about hiring that personal trainer to guide you in your fitness journey. Just make the choice, and make the right one! Once the choice is made your action can follow :)
